Way back when I did my first wedding in India, I was blown away by the vibrant colours and traditions at that wedding. This time round, capturing this top Indian Hindu Wedding in Cape Town, was no difference! What a splendour of beauty, radiant colours, epic celebrations and awesome food!
As tradition, the Mehendi happened the evening before at the prestigious Residence de France in Newlands, Cape Town. This venue also served as the wedding venue for the next day. It is the home of the France Ambassador in South Africa and a stunning place! Apart from the hand painting and party, Renisha and her girls performed a fun dance for Anant and the guests. I love the shots we got from these.
Bracing ourselves for a near 40°C day in Cape Town in true February style, I arrived at the time tested Vineyard Hotel where Ren and her fam got ready. It served as a beautiful setting nesteled in between the urban area for her prep shots ans well as for the couple shoot afterwards. The ceremony lasted for just over an hour with many Hindu rituals conducted by a guru all the way from India. I found it very interesting and a photographic feast for the eye.
Putting all this aside, I need to mention Jade from JC Events. She and her team did an amazing job to put all this together. Above all, she treats the service providers with respect and makes even us all feel special. Just imagine what the couple must feel like! She comes highly recommended!
So, prepare to be blown away by colour, style and deep traditions that might make you feel you are in a different world altogether.
