I honestly didn’t have too much to do with what you are about to witness. It was the most awesome and strange day all at the same time.
When I arrived at Die Strandkombuis, it was so bright, it made my head spin. The glare and beach were so blindingly bright with no clouds in the air. I felt light headed and like falling over. The thought crossed my mind, “What if I can’t do this today?!“. I prayed to my Lord and asked for help. This tends to produce results !!
The action started and all pain disappeared. The boys were so much fun and Darren bursting with confidence. A few classics here boytjies! Nicola was also bursting, but with excitement. The joy streamed from her heart to her face. The stage was set.
I went mad with settings and filters during the ceremony just to capture detail on a bright white beach. Then the weirdest thing happened. For the remainder of the afternoon, the light continued to change every 5 minutes. It was as if God was sitting there playing with a light dial going from one extreme to the other. All in a matter of minutes. Clouds were there, then gone, then back again, then mist, then clear – it was the strangest thing! The was the best a photographer can ask for. Throw in an awesome awesome couple, warm and close family and a crowd of legend friends – I just needed to click away.
