Clemens & Jen | e-shoot – Amsterdam

I’ve had to shoot in many difficult situations before.  Anything from an icy cyclone to tropical humidity and equator heat.  Somehow we’ve always pulled through.  But apartments Amsterdam drenched me to the bone …

It would probably have been manageable if someone had taught the Dutch how to extend their roofs by just a wee bit.  All the buildings seems to have sheer walls – nothing to protect a submerged African and his gear from the water falls.  Man, if there is one place I would not like to be a bergie in …

I did at one stage throw in the towel.  How I needed one!  Everything was soaked; my lights went haywire and personified erratic; it was too risky and wet to even change a lens.  So, I had no choice.  I called it a day.  Just to be encouraged and persuaded by Clemens to keep going for a wee bit longer.  Jen so wanted shots of them on a bike in front of their flat – and because he loves her, he wanted to make sure she is happy.  How could I have refused …

Just look at these guys!  Cool and collective, stylish and urban.  Travelers, lovers, professionals and absolute fun-ners!  I get to shoot them again at their wedding in an absolute contrast to this setting next year – something I’m very excited about.  It is going to be worth the wait.    And what would an Amsterdam shoot have been without a few bicycle shots.  I am glad I got persuaded.  Only this one time though  🙂

Proud of these.
