Destination Wedding South Africa

Destination Wedding South Africa

I love being a photographer in South Africa.  It just has such a huge variety of awesome landscapes and beautiful people to work with.

The province of Limpopo didn’t disappoint this weekend.  It was all one could imagine it to be.  Good, down to earth people.  Red soil.  Bosveld. Wild animals.  And thunder …

People started to arrive at the ceremony area next to the Letaba River.  Those who came prepared had their big golf umbrellas open.  It was wet.  I left an excited bride in the pouring rain about half an hour before.  As I left, I asked her if we were going to move the ceremony to the shed.  She was adamant that it would continue at the planned spot.  “God knows”, she said.

Of course He does.

What an intense day.  Smiles turning to tears; tears to smiles.  An intense heat wave and direct sun; thunder and lighting; pouring rain and spectacular clouds in the cool of the night.  Rainbows; promises; lightning strikes; washing of feet; covenant; red strings; blood; forgiveness.

As raw, wild, drenching, free and unpredictable as our continent.  A true African wedding.

Allen & Marguerite – your humbleness, faith, maturity and love was inspiring on your wedding day.  Keep it growing and flourishing as you enter God’s Plan A for your lives together.  Thank you for this experience, inspiration and opportunity.  Enjoy!
